Emerald

Crystal Habit is a series of origami headpieces based on the colors, lines and forms of minerals and metals. 

Inhabiting the visual qualities of an emerald, this complex sculpture resembles the tranquil green gemstone, with its fissures of perfect imperfections. Three layers of paper give depth and texture to surface, and the wood sculpture delicately wraps through the shapes, referencing the details of its raw state. Crafted from hand-folded cubes, squares and rectangles and attached to a small fascinator.
