Fractal explores the emergence of order and patterns through the arctic lens of winter. Pyramid variations are frozen in time by symmetry and sequence to form modular crystal systems that mirror rice forms and fractal frost from another dimension.
The designs in this series begin as paper sculptures. Each shape is then digitized and 3D printed in durable Nylon through Selective Laser Sintering - a sustainable, additive based technology that only uses the materials required to make the object. The shapes are hand-painted with a water-based paint and protective varnish, then attached together with Stainless Steel hardware.
