Amethyst

Crystal Habit is a series of origami headpieces based on the colors, lines and forms of minerals and metals. 

Made from a textured layer of reflective violet paper, the surface of this piece mimics the variety of purples in an amethyst quartz. Silver embroidery thread wraps through the crystalline shapes, creating a fragile web of constellations. Crafted from ten hand-folded pyramids and attached to a small fascinator.
